Sheree Christensen Valley Jr. High ReflectionPaper
Creating a website was a very enjoyable experience. I was able to read about creating a website even before delving into the creation. Instead of creating the whole website from scratch, I chose to use a service online that allowed me to use their template, which made the experience much easier! I looked at various services and chose to use zoomshare.com.
There were numerous challenges that took place when creating my web page. First, I had never done this before and felt inadequate, especially compared to the expertise level of my classmates. Second, I had to learn how to use zoomshare.com to set up my webpage and figure out how to format the pages, what fonts and sizes to use and so forth. Third, I had no experience with uploading pictures and had to learn about resizing which took some time. Finally, I learned that my web page cannot be accessed from the school in which I work, which caused an additional lack of motivation because the majority of my students will only be able to access my web page from the school computers.
Overcoming these challenges took patience and work. Trial and error was the best way to overcome the obstacles that I faced. I learned that I had to just get in and play with zoomshare.com to figure out how to go about setting up my site. I had the best classmates with terrific sites that I visited on a daily basis for ideas for my own web page. Being able to discuss ideas with four other ladies and an instructor helped as well. I also started to create an additional web page using scholastic.com because this site can be accessed at my school.
Since I used a service that already existed on the web, I had no challenges with uploading to the internet. Once something was saved, it was instantly accessible on my web page.
This final class was probably my most favorite of all that were taken while getting my master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. I will definitely use what I have learned to make a website that will be the most beneficial for the students and parents that I work with.
